Incorporated in 1962, HTRI was chartered to conduct application-oriented research in the field of heat transfer and fluid flow technology. Our goal–to deliver proprietary, high quality research using dependable design methods and software products–was a departure from the then-typical process of using university-derived theory to conduct individual experiments.

Joe HOLMES was the designated representative of HTRI in CO-LaN till the membership renewal addressed by HTRI on August 1, 2019. David GIBBONS, as current Director of Engineering Software Development was then designated as representative by HTRI. Both have been regular participants to CAPE-OPEN Annual Meetings, both in the US and in Europe.

Since January 1, 2021 HTRI is an Associate Member in Group A as per the bylaws adopted by CO-LaN on October 15, 2020.
