INOSIM Software GmbH is a German company developing software for production planning and production optimization.

Back in 2009-2010, INOSIM was involved in a research project aiming at closing gaps between chemical process modeling and discrete event simulation. One of the project requirements was to bring within discrete event simulation software the thermodynamic models coming from chemical process modeling software. This called for CAPE-OPEN interfaces to be used.

The company reported on the development of a CAPE-OPEN thermodynamic socket at the CAPE-OPEN 2013 Annual Meeting.

INOSIM Software GmbH partnered with ProSim SA for six years (till November 2020) with Simulis Thermodynamics as the CAPE-OPEN thermodynamic server promoted by the partnership. Simulis Thermodynamics offers itself the capability to accept other CAPE-OPEN Property Packages. Common work on ProSim Batch was also initiated between the two partners.

In November 2015, INOSIM Software GmbH announced that “The new INOSIM CAPE-OPEN Interface extends our tools by data and calculation methods taken from scientific databases. It allows the integration of physical and thermodynamical data pools into the simulation in order to compute material properties.

On December 17, 2020, INOSIM Software GmbH decided to resign from CO-LaN. On January 14, 2021, CO-LaN Management Board acknowledged the decision taken by INOSIM Software GmbH.

CO-LaN regrets INOSIM Software GmbH’s decision but is confident that use of CAPE-OPEN by INOSIM Software GmbH will continue.
