VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd is a leading research and technology company in the Nordic countries. VTT has a national mandate in Finland. Among the many products and services developed and commercialized by VTT, Apros® dynamic process simulation software qualifies as a CAPE software.
Following contacts between VTT and CO-LaN at ESCAPE 12 where an update on CO-LaN and CAPE-OPEN progress was given, VTT applied for Associate Membership in CO-LaN on September 20, 2002. Membership of VTT in CO-LaN was approved on October 3rd, 2002 by CO-LaN Management Board with Dr Tommi KARHELA designated by VTT as its representative in CO-LaN.
On April 30, 2021, Dr Eemeli HYTÖNEN, Technology Manager at VTT (Dr Tommi KARHELA pursuing his career outside VTT at this point in time), stated CAPE-OPEN “is an interesting topic but at the moment there is no possibility for us to dedicate resources to work on this“. Dr HYTÖNEN leaves open the “possibility to join if we decide to go forward in implementing the powerful features of CAPE OPEN“.
On June 22, 2021, Dr HYTÖNEN submitted the notification resignation from VTT and CO-LaN Management Board decided therefore to cancel VTT’s membership in CO-LaN on July 8, 2021.
CO-LaN thanks VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd for their membership since 2002 and hopes to see them again soon.
