The Interoperability SIG met from 9 am till 10 am European Central Time on March 16, 2017.

Agenda

Feedback from conference call on TLB/PIA installers, Tester Suite, COLTT 64 bits

Participants

Malcolm WOODMAN, Michael HALLORAN (Contractor for CO-LaN) and Michel PONS (Contractor for CO-LaN as Chief Technology Officer)

Highlights

TLB/PIA installers. Debrief of the conference call on Developer Guide for TLB/PIA installers was conducted. The quality of sound in the recording made is poor at times and the video is too long however it enables anybody to attend the call afterwards. Modifications to the Developer Guide have been introduced by Michael HALLORAN. The example based on the Mixer/Splitter code needs to be provided in the “CAPE-OPEN Examples” repository and the guide further revised to point to this example. The document gathering the lessons learnt from this development has been amended by Michael HALLORAN and will be reviewed once more by Malcolm WOODMAN before being provided to the Management Board as guidance for development of shared software components.

COBIA. Michel PONS reported on the steps taken by Methods & Tools SIG to address concerns expressed by Interop SIG. The Interoperability SIG recommends that Methods & Tools SIG organizes a conference call to disseminate about the objectives of COBIA Phase II, its deliverables and to explain what use developers will be able to make of these deliverables.

COLTT. The 64-bit version of COLTT is ready for use except that it carries a controller version different from the 32-bit version. Evaluation of need for a single controller and ways to achieve this are necessary and could benefit from understanding how software vendors are approaching the 64-bit / 32-bit interoperability for CAPE-OPEN. Opportunity to arrange for a conference call with software vendors, in order to define COLTT roadmap, will be considered.

Self-certification. Large resources are necessary to review current Tester Suite and to develop a strategy to make use of COLTT for revising/enhancing the current Tester Suite. Management Board needs to guide Interoperability SIG on which task to put priority between COLTT basic development and development of a self-certification solution.

Next conference call to review actions is scheduled for April 24, 2017.
