The Methods & Tools Special Interest Group and the Interoperability Special Interest Group held  a joint meeting from 5:30 pm till 06:40 pm Central European Summer Time.

Participants
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (represented by Bill BARRETT) as Methods & Tools SIG leader, AmsterCHEM (represented by Jasper van BATEN), Bryan Research & Engineering (represented by Michael HLAVINKA), Malcolm WOODMAN, as Interoperability SIG leader, Michel PONS (contractor to CO-LaN as Chief Technology Officer).

Highlights

Members of both Special Interest Groups revised the document on the versioning protocol developed over the last few months. Comments made by Malcolm WOODMAN had been taken into consideration by Bill BARRETT, except for two of them that meant moving paragraphs to another part (more technical) of the document.

During the meeting, care in the wording used was exercized especially in the section on the impact of versioning on CAPE-OPEN Type Definitions and on how these definitions are processed in other CAPE-OPEN artefacts, ensuring that versioning is correctly applied.

It was additionnally figured out that among the artefacts impacted by versioning are the licensing texts attached to each artefact distributed by CO-LaN. Dealing with these will be discussed before or at the next joint meeting scheduled for November 3, 2022.
