In a paper published in Computers and Chemical Engineering Journal, Pablo ROLANDI (PSE) and Prof. ROMAGNOLI (Louisiana State University) explain how they built upon the CAPE-OPEN Numerical interfaces in order to create their framework for support of manufacting operations. In the course of describing the framework, the authors are explaining what added functionality has been introduced in the implementation of a CAPE-OPEN Equation Set Object in gPROMS.
This proves an inspiring description of what progress can be made in the design of CAPE-OPEN Numerical interfaces. Note that no step has been taken yet within CO-LaN to pick up these proposals and to introduce them in a revised interface specification. The lack of a Special Interest Group dedicated to numerics explains this for a large part;
