A paper titled “Implementation of the waste reduction (WAR) algorithm utilizing flowsheet monitoring” by William M. BARRETT Jr., Jasper van BATEN and Todd MARTIN, has been published recently in Computers and Chemical Engineering journal (available on line February 10, 2011).
The paper describes an extension to the CAPE-OPEN standards, the proposed Flowsheet Monitoring interface, and its application to environmental metrics. The paper is a proposal and the interface specification describes has not been approved by CO-LaN at time of publishing.
