Future trends in CFD include integration with process simulation software

A panel of Greek and Bulgarian experts wrote a review on the future trends in Computational Fluid Dynamics. The paper was originally presented at the 1st South-East European Congress of Chemical Engineering, held in Belgrade between September 25 and 28, 2005.

Software integration was noted as a trend with especially the possibility to integrate CFD models into process simulation software. Examples of such an integration were taken from the APECS project run at NETL.

This review shows that knowledge about the use of CAPE-OPEN to reach interoperability betwenn CFD and process simulation tools has spread widely especially thanks to APECS successes.
