Dr. Gerrit DANKER is replacing Michael KRAZNYK as representative in CO-LaN of the Max-Planck-Institut für dynamik komplexer technischer Systeme. Dr. Gerrit DANKER is involved in the development of the process modelling tool ProMoT and of the simulation tool Diana (see recent article in Chemie Ingenieur Technik at DOI: 10.1002/cite.201400003).

The key aspects of the ProMoT/Diana environment are flexible structured models, efficient modular numerical kernel, and the use of the scripting language Python as a powerful command line interface. The implementation is based on CAPE-OPEN interfaces to allow a modular software design and easy extensions of the system.
