A CAPE-OPEN event has taken place today  in Cambridge (UK), sponsored by the European funded project Global CAPE-OPEN support.

Have been shown the CAPE-OPEN standards, interoperability demos, software component migration for unit and thermo models, CAPE-OPEN compliant software components for solvers, unit operations, physical property data bases, and thermodynamic models, the role of middleware such as COM and CORBA and of IDLs (interface definition languages), how a software component is tested for CAPE-OPEN compliance, examples of implemented software components in both COSEs (CAPE-OPEN simulation environments) and plug-in models.
