CAPE-OPEN link envisioned for biorefineries modelling framework
25 JUNE 2016
On June 25, 2016, a paper was published by a research team at National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). It discusses how to develop a systematic superstructure framework for the synthesis and design of biorefineries processes. In their conclusions and description of future work, the authors state that “Link with CAPE-OPEN and Aspen Plus for a very accurate chemical properties calculation and fast feed re-characterization is currently being developed.”
This work is closely related to the CAPE-OPEN training course given to researchers of the RENESENG project. Participants have evaluated the potential provided by CAPE-OPEN and have started the implementation of the necessary interfaces. CO-LaN is looking forward to this additional implementation of CAPE-OPEN.
