The Methods and Tools Special Interest Group met from 5 pm till 6:35 pm Central European Time.

Agenda

Transition from COM to COBIA and activity report to be delivered by the Methods & Tools Special Interest Group at the CAPE-OPEN 2018 Annual Meeting.

Participants

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (represented by Bill BARRETT), AmsterCHEM (represented by Jasper van BATEN), Bryan Research & Engineering (represented by Michael HLAVINKA), Michel PONS (contractor to CO-LaN as Chief Technology Officer)

Highlights

The meeting progresses and finalizes the flowchart reflecting the transition path from COM to COBIA. This flowchart is needed both for the COBIA training course on October 8, 2018 and for the activity report to be delivered by the Methods & Tools Special Interest Group on October 10 at the CAPE-OPEN 2018 Annual Meeting. The flowchart reflects what happens when a flowsheet with COM and/or COBIA PMCs is reloaded in a PME that may or may not have been transitioned to COBIA. The possible parallel transitions (PME and PMC) call for additional interfaces to be considered.

The part of the activity report on the revision of Parameter Common interface specification to fit with COBIA is amended: the need is expressed for Energy and Information streams to have corresponding Ports exposing a Collection of Parameter specifications instead of Parameters.

The development of the activity report will be continued on October 3, 2018.
