Migration cookbook

A Migration Cookbook has been delivered by the Global CAPE-OPEN project to assist with migration of legacy software to the CO standard. It addresses migration issues, strategies, methods and tools as well as experiences.

Wizards

Currently, two kinds of Migrations wizards are available that can be used for "Unit Operation" and "Thermodynamic and Physical Properties" component development. These software tools are implemented as plug-ins for VisualStudio 6.0 and guide a developer on the steps to be taken towards producing a CAPE-OPEN compliant software component.

Please note that the Unit Operation Wizard available for download on this page is compliant with version 0.93 of the CAPE-OPEN standards. The CO-LaN membership has access to a Unit Operation Wizard for VB6 compliant with version 1.0 of the CAPE-OPEN standards. Other Unit Operation Wizards are also available: one for Unit Operations written in C++ (donated to CO-LaN by IFP) and one for Unit Operations written in FORTRAN 90 (donated by TOTAL). Both are available only to the CO-LaN membership. Further more an open source Unit Operation Wizard for Borland Delphi is publicly available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/capeopenwizard (donated by SASOL).
