 Thermodynamics (updated October 23, 2006)
This document contains a new specification of the CAPE-OPEN Thermodynamic and Physical Properties interfaces. The specification has two parts: a conceptual model of how CAPE-OPEN Thermodynamic and Physical Properties components interact with their host environments and a detailed reference section describing each method of the interfaces.
Changes in this version:
This interface specification is a major revision of the previous CAPE-OPEN Thermodynamic and Physical Properties interfaces document published under version 1.0. The functionality covered by the interfaces is slightly extended, but the main motivations for the changes are simplification, increased flexibility and the removal of ambiguities. These are the issues that emerged most strongly from testing implementations of version 1.0 of the specification. Version 1.1 by itself, as well as its documentation, are designed to make it easier to understand the interfaces, and therefore to implement CAPE-OPEN components, and to make interoperability of CAPE-OPEN components more easily achievable.

Please refer also to the Errata and Clarifications (March 28, 2008) for this document, which include some normative corrections.

You can send comments or questions to technologyofficer@colan.org, for example if you have been writing software to implement this version and have found problems or errors. We are interested in technical comments and errata.
