CO Tester

The CO Tester checks a software component for basic conformity with CAPE-OPEN standards. The CO Tester prepares a report which enables any developer to assess the compliance of a piece of software with the CO interface specifications.

The CO Tester acts as a basic simulation environment where software components can be plugged in. It has been designed to automatically carry out a number of scenarios. First, the CO Tester checks for the existence of the required CO interfaces within the tested software. This constitutes the Basic test. Then each method of each interface is tested on its arguments (existence and type), and on its functionality. This constitutes the Function test. Any developer is also able to run self-designed tests through the Integration test part, where the developer defines the test scenarios.

The CO Tester needs only to be downloaded (free of charge) and installed (currently, only a Windows executable is available). It comes with a help functionality explaining how to use the tool and its various features.

COM CO Tester

This CO Tester permits the test of software components implementing interface specifications of the CAPE-OPEN standard. Reports can be generated in text format. The tester comes with a setup which properly installs the necessary files on your machine.

Compared to the tester implementing the 0.9.0 version of the standard, the 0.9.3 version tester has improved error identification and handling mechanisms and provides improvements in the parameter interface.

Version 2.4.6 includes testing, on top of UNIT and THRM components, of MINLP (Mixed Integer Non Linear Programming), PPDB (Physical Properties Data Banks), SMST (Sequential Modular Specific Tools) components.

Download the executable and double-click on it when it is on your machine. Runs on PC under Windows 2000, Windows NT (SP5 preferred), Windows XP and WIN 98. Do not accept the setup to change any DLLs which are already on your machine. For version 2.4.6, download and unzip then run the installation as described in the Readme file.
