Development of a tester for a MINLP component in COM
This Bid concerns the test of CAPE-OPEN Mixed-Integer Non-Linear Programming (MINLP) components for compliance with 1.0 CO Specification
" MINLP". MINLPs are optimisation problems with a (possibly) nonlinear objective function and (possibly) nonlinear equality
and inequality constraints. The variables appearing in the objective function and constraints are generally restricted to lie between
specified lower and upper bounds. Furthermore, some of these variables may be restricted to integer values only. The aim of the
optimisation is to determine values of the variables that minimise or maximise the objective function while satisfying the constraints
and all other restrictions imposed on them. The specification defines interfaces to optimisation tools implementing these methods.
Interfaces are only described in CORBA IDL and therefore developing a COM tester implies to define the corresponding COM IDL and to
develop a bidirectional COM-CORBA bridge for testing CORBA-based MINLP components. The bridge can be based on existing commercial
products if needed and suitable. The MINLP tester should share the look-and-feel and report generation mechanism of the existing
CO-testers.
