The CO-LaN Management Board had chosen to organize the 6th CAPE-OPEN European Conference nearby Munich airport in Germany, more precisely in Freising. The venue was the Munich Airport Marriott hotel.

The 6th CAPE-OPEN European Conference was held on April 2 and April 3, 2009. The conference was made of a session with presentations, of Special Interest Groups meetings as well as of an interoperability workshop. A tutorial was organized on April 3rd.

Thirty representatives from AixCAPE, Akzo Nobel Chemicals, AmsterCHEM, BASF, Bayer Technology Services, Haldor Topsoe A/S, Halias Technologies, Honeywell, Heat Transfer Research, IFP, Infochem, Kongsberg Maritime, Linde Engineering, Shell Global Solutions, SimSci-Esscor, Scandpower Petroleum Technology, TUV NEL Ltd attended the conference.
