On September 4, 2007, CO-LaN Management Board accepted Iowa State University application for Associate Membership.

The application came from the Virtual Engineering Research Group that is developing especially VE-Suite, an open source virtual engineering software toolkit. The toolkit enables its user to simultaneously interact with engineering analyses and graphical models to create a virtual decision-making environement. This research group, under the direction of Professor Mark Bryden, is aiming at implementing CAPE-OPEN interfaces in VE-Suite. Doug McCorkle, research assistant, will be representing this organization within CO-LaN.
