During the 4th CAPE-OPEN European Conference, the production version of COLTT was unveiled by the Interoperability Support Special Interest Group. This software tool (CAPE-OPEN Logging and Testing Tool) enables logging of all communication
taking place between a CAPE-OPEN Process Modelling Environment and a CAPE-OPEN Process Modelling Component such as a Unit Operation, a Property Package or a
Thermo System. It helps resolving interoperability issues that may pop up, providing an objective account of the communication taking place even and especially in between pieces of software from
different parties.
The concept of COLTT was first demonstrated at the 2nd CAPE-OPEN European Conference in Como. Extensive debugging and validation phases followed which involved tests
with numerous PMCs and PMEs. While the initial development was made at Aspentech by Michael Halloran, further development was carried out by SHMA (Sidat Hyder Morshed Associated
(Pvty) Ltd. in Pakistan.
COLTT complements the CAPE-OPEN implementation and usage support tools that CO-LaN is making available: Wizards and the Tester Suite. COLTT is made available to the CO-LaN
membership for free. It was immediately put to use in the Interoperability Workshop sessions on March 8 and 9, 2007.
