On March 8, 2007 CO-LaN President Ray Dickinson presented the 2006 CAPE-OPEN Award to Jasper van Baten. The citation was: “The CAPE-OPEN Laboratories Network presents the CAPE-OPEN 2006 Award to Jasper van Baten of AmsterCHEM for the creation of the CAPE-OPEN based simulator COCO”.

President Dickinson highlighted a number of reasons for rewarding Jasper:

  • The creation of the CAPE-OPEN simulator COCO, which is freely available and being used increasingly for CO-compliance testing purposes.
  • Enthusiastic participation in CAPE-OPEN activities, e.g. Refinery Reactor SIG and the creation of the ChemSep CO component.
  • The example he provides of what niche suppliers can achieve with limited resources.
