Michel Pons, CO-LaN CTO, was invited by Norbert Hoyer of Scandpower Petroleum Technology AS, to give a presentation on CAPE-OPEN standards related to transient simulation. The presentation took place at an OLGA Product Group meeting held in Lillestrom, Norway on Dec 8, 2006.

Michel Pons outlined the interface specification for Unit Operation as applied to steady-state simulation. Recorded demos of a deepwater oil&gas production network modelled in PRO/II 8.0, COFE 1.05 and INDISS with use of an IFP-TOTAL pipe model implementing CO interfaces were shown. The extension of the CAPE-OPEN standards for dynamic units was presented in terms of analysis and design of the interfaces. Excerpts of work presented by IFP at San Francisco on transient simulation of the same kind of network were presented.
