The Thermodynamic Special Interest Group has published version 1.1 of the Thermodynamic and Physical Properties interface specification. This publication has been approved by the CO-LaN Management Board on Sep 26, 2006.

Version 1.1 extends previous version (1.0) especially for multiphase equilibrium calculations, simplifies the overall design and brings altogether an easier implementation capability. This specification has been prototyped and tested in a number of ways.

After a first stage of prototyping within the Tester Suite, this version has reached a stage where Process Modelling Environments and Process Modelling Components are now offered with this technology. COCO-TEA (v1.04) from AmsterCHEM provides a plug and a socket, MultiFlash (v 3.5) from Infochem Computer Services Ltd. provides a plug, SolidSim 1.0 (Technical University Hamburg Harburg) provides a socket while a FORTRAN 90 thermodynamic library has been created by ProSim SA to ease coding of calls to a 1.1 Property Package.
