Michel Pons attended the EUROKIN Workshop held on October 21, 2005 in Sausset, France near Marseilles. He had the opportunity to describe what is CAPE-OPEN, how it has been applied to reactor modelling and how it can help in integrating CFD models within process models made with classical flowsheeting tools. The presentation prompted a number of questions about resources needed to migrate a code to CAPE-OPEN compliance, about also distributed calculations over a network, etc... EUROKIN is an industrial / academic consortium aimed at advancing kinetic and reactor modelling in industrial practice.
