Michel Pons made a presentation about CAPE-OPEN vision and background, explained what may be done through the use of CAPE-OPEN interfaces (was presented the example of the same gPROMS UNIT Operation model running in both PRO/II 7.0 and Aspen HYSYS 2004), reviewed a list of CAPE-OPEN compliant software in order to explain the different aspects of CAPE-OPEN compliance, described in more details the UNIT and THRM interface specifications, discussed the migration support tools made available by CO-LaN and finally explained the CO-LaN missions, organization and actions. The presentations prompted a number of questions. Petroleum Experts presented their technology and OpenServer architecture.
