Project description: CAPE-OPEN Wizard for Delphi
In 2002 Sasol started investigating the feasibility of producing propylene glycol ethers.
On the R&D side a reactor and reaction kinetics model were developed to use in process simulations.
The CAPE-OPEN specification was selected as a promising platform-neutral technology for
incorporating the model in CAPE-OPEN compliant simulators. A Delphi framework was written
that implements the required functionality, as well as a wizard that automates the creation of new
CAPE-OPEN compliant models. This wizard has been released under an open source license
(http://capeopenwizard.sourceforge.net).
Several in-house Sasol models have been converted to CAPE-OPEN Unit models using this wizard:
Propylene glycol ether reactor
Sasol Advanced Synthol reactor including gas loop
Methanol from syngas reactor
Refinery Platformer model
Refinery CatPoly model
