Project description: Simulis Thermodynamics

Created in 1989, ProSim is today one of the few independent and privately held companies to supply innovative software and service solutions for modelling, simulation and optimization to process industries. Its experienced staff concentrates all its efforts on providing the best technology for your process development, design and operation. Good modelling is a key element in achieving the maximum return on investment when using CAPE (Computer Aided Process Engineering) tools and techniques. Thanks to a long term partnership with research centers and to a continuous investment in research and development, ProSim has been able to develop innovative process solutions, to become an active player in CAPE. After the development of a CAPE-OPEN thermodynamic property package for demonstration purpose (CO Atom), ProSim has been also selected by the CO-LaN management board to realize the PPDB and SMST CO-Testers. During this last contract, a SMST prototype based on COM middleware has also been developed by the ProSim team. Member of the CO-LaN, ProSim can be considered as an experienced company on CAPE-OPEN specifications.

Simulis Thermodynamics is the first public tool of the Simulis Components Suite, the new generation of products developed by ProSim and based on the StarDust technology and COM middleware. Simulis Thermodynamics is a thermodynamic properties (compressibility, transport, ...) and fluid phase equilibria calculation server for pure substances and mixtures as powerful as the widely validated standard thermodynamic library of ProSim used in the previous tools: ProSim Plus, ProPhy Plus, BibPhy Add-In. It also includes a service of binary interaction parameters estimation from experimental data. Simulis Compounds, a server of pure substance properties with a temperature dependent properties fitting service is also included.
